Applications are now open for the KNB Indonesian Government Scholarship 2026, a fully funded scholarship for international students to study in Indonesia. The scholarship is officially known as the Kemitraan Negara Berkembang (KNB) Scholarship and is supported by the Indonesian Government through the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology.
The KNB Scholarship is available for Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD degree programs at Indonesian universities. There is no application fee, and selected candidates will receive full financial support for the entire duration of their studies. A total of 34 universities and more than 1,000 degree programs are participating in this scholarship. In 2024, 222 scholarships were awarded.

Financial Benefits
The KNB Scholarship 2026 provides complete financial support to selected students. The scholarship includes a settlement allowance upon arrival in Indonesia, full tuition fee coverage, a monthly living allowance, and research and book allowances. It also provides health insurance, an economy-class international air ticket, and local transportation to the host university.
Scholarship Duration
All scholarship recipients must complete a one-year Indonesian language training program (BIPA) before starting their academic studies. The duration of the degree programs is as follows:
- Bachelor’s degree: 8 semesters (48 months)
- Master’s degree: 4 semesters (24 months)
- PhD degree: 8 semesters (48 months)

Eligibility Requirements
The KNB Scholarship is open to citizens of developing countries. Applicants must meet the academic requirements for their chosen degree level. High school graduates may apply for Bachelor’s programs, but applicants who already hold a Bachelor’s degree are not eligible for another Bachelor’s scholarship. Similarly, Master’s degree holders are not eligible for Master’s scholarships, and PhD degree holders are not eligible for PhD scholarships.
The maximum age limit is 21 years for Bachelor’s applicants, 35 years for Master’s applicants, and 40 years for PhD applicants. IELTS is not required for native English speakers or for applicants who completed their previous education at an English-medium institution.
Required Documents
Applicants must submit scanned copies of their academic degree certificates (High School for Bachelor’s, Bachelor’s for Master’s, and Master’s for PhD), a recommendation letter issued by the Indonesian Embassy, supervisor, or previous institution, a valid passport copy, an updated CV, and a motivation letter.
How to Apply for the KNB Indonesian Government Scholarship 2026
Applicants must first download the official KNB Scholarship offering letter. They are required to contact the Indonesian Embassy or Consulate General in their home country and submit the required academic and administrative documents to obtain a recommendation letter.
After receiving the embassy or consulate recommendation letter, applicants must register online through the official KNB Scholarship website. All documents must be scanned in JPEG or JPG format, with a maximum file size of 300 KB per file. Each applicant is allowed to create only one account.
